Okay, maybe not such a pretty sight and the chamber of commerce might take a dim view of the decline in tourism, so probably ought to perish that thought! (If you decide to anyway, remember to iron out all the wrinkles )
Galveston is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Texas though, but lucky for us, school vacation and the tourist season will be over, and although maybe not completely desolate, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding parking along the thirty-two miles of beaches.
All along the shores, dinner cruises, paddlewheel boats and charters are readily available. There are many attractions and things to do around the Galveston/Houston area so if you have the time, you may want to come early or stay over.
